Drawing on Shakeenah's expertise, she offers Stress Management via Drum Healing Workshops. Drums of various kinds are welcome to our workshops; some are supplied and some participants bring their own to use. “From Bronx street festivals to Olatunji's "Drums of Passion," African rhythms shaped my soul. Then, Arkansas' Ozark mountains, a twist of fate, and I found drumming again. Not just the African dance, but the drum's pulse. It was more than music; it was a lifeline. Be it rough times, anger or fear – the drum silenced them. My brain may forget the beat and/or the names of the rhythms I played, but my body remembers the release. This is for those of you seeking natural stress relief. No experience needed. Just some percussion based expression, as a way to heal. Like yoga and meditation- once dismissed, now they're understood. And so is the healing drum. Ase.” Shakeenah Our Drum Healing Workshops are for all ages and genders, however, sometimes with a special focus on women rebuilding their lives. Deeply influenced by African rhythms, she found the drum's pulse—like the resonance of sound frequencies—to be a powerful lifeline for coping with stress, anger, and fear. She utilizes these tools along with intentions to offer safe, effective ways for people to vent, recharge, and find empowerment. These services are available to survivors of abuse, children needing an outlet, and activists seeking renewal for their just causes. No experience is needed for this form of healing. After high school and a year of college, a twist of fate landed her in a monastic environment. There, she gained valuable life lessons including a vast hands-on knowledge in holistic health back when "natural" still truly meant natural.
